Video Switches

Video Switch commonly referred to as a Video Switcher, is a device that enables a user to share a single display or projector between multiple sources such as computers, DVD players, and gaming consoles. Video Switch is the most common entry point to the KVM environment because displays can be the most expensive part of any system and also tend to consume the most space and energy. Video switches are readily available to support Composite, Component, S-Video, VGA, DVI and HDMI interfaces. Video Switcher comes in many configurations ranging from a simple 2 port solution up to 16x16 DVI Switch with audio support and 3D compatible 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switch. All video switch units feature front-panel push button controls, but more complex units also include RS232 control, infra red remote control, and TCP/IP access (extra equipment may be necessary) for control from a computer. All of the HDMI Switch units are High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) compliant so there are no issues with purchased media being displayed.
